Data deletion
However you reached Blue Chaty — as somebody who signs in, or as somebody who messaged a business that uses it — there is a way to have what it holds about you deleted. Here is which one applies to you.
In effect from 20 August 2026.
If you messaged a business on Messenger, Instagram, LINE, or by email
The business you wrote to is the one holding that conversation; Blue Chaty is the inbox they read it in. Ask them, in the same conversation or by any other means, to delete your data. When they do, the messages, the profile name and picture the provider supplied, and the identifier that ties the thread to you are removed.
If they do not answer, or you would rather not ask them, write to the operator of this instance with the name of the Page, Instagram account, LINE account, or mailbox you messaged, and the account you messaged it from. That is enough to find the thread without you having to prove anything else about yourself.
If you sign in to a workspace
Ask the owner of your workspace to remove you. That deletes your membership: your name, your workspace email address, your role, your read state, and your assignments, which fall back to unassigned. Saved replies you created stay, without you attached to them.
The replies and internal notes themselves stay in their conversations, and are not attributed to you: this application stores them against the conversation, not against the member who typed them. Deleting your account with the operator removes the sign-in record — name, email address, and credentials — across every workspace it belonged to.
If you own a workspace
Disconnecting a channel in Settings → Channels deletes that channel straight away: its stored credentials, its conversations, its customers, and their messages. For the whole workspace — members, channels, conversations, customers, messages, attachments, and notes — send the request from the email address the owner account uses.
What happens after the request
- The request is acknowledged, and the data identified. Where it is not obvious which workspace or thread is meant, one clarifying question is asked and nothing is deleted until it is answered.
- The data is deleted within 30 days.
- Deletion is permanent. Messages are not recoverable afterwards, including by the workspace that received them.
- Backups age out on their own schedule; nothing is restored from them to undo a deletion.
Copies held by the provider the conversation arrived from — Meta, LINE, your mail host — are outside this application. Deleting a Messenger thread here does not delete it from Facebook; ask Meta for that.
